Proenza Schouler Soon to Open First Store
For the first time within the ten years of Proenza Schouler the label will finally have their own store which opens this Friday. The 2,000-square-foot space will reside on 822 Madison Avenue in Manhattan. Designers Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough created their first line under the label for their senior projects where it was then picked up by Barneys New York. For the past decade the label has been sold within a department store, however they are changing their retail strategy in order to accommodated the new store.
The location, that was once a sushi restaurant, has been reconstructed to a two-story, edgy and sophisticated store. The designers stated that for the first few seasons they will be buying for the store themselves and plan to stock as much of the runway looks as possible along with offering ample exclusives.
