Designer Reem Acra has stunned us with her red carpet gowns and bridal dresses for years. Now, she wants to try her luck at creating a fragrance equally has great! For the Lebanese-born designer, it was important for her to incorporate herself into the namesake fragrance. Therefore, she used scents that held a close meaning to her.
“It’s my life story. Amber has been part of my home since I was a little kid — we used to collect it [in Lebanon]. Peonies are my favorite flower, and every morning I drink orange blossom, steeped in hot water to relax,” Acra told WWD.
The scent created by Acra, her fragrance Licensee, TPR Holdings LLC, and Firmenich’s Pierre Negrin has top notes of orange blossom, pear and bergamot. It also was created with a meld of other aromas including: heart of ginger, jasmine, lily of the valley and blooming peony, amber, cedar wood, patchouli and warm musk.
The perfume is available in three sizes: 30-ml. for $35, 50-ml. for $90 and 90-ml. for $125. It’s also offered as a 200-ml. body lotion for $50, a 200-ml. shower gel for $40 and a 5.1-oz. body cream for $75.
The fragrance will have its launch in October at Saks Fifth Avenue. It will also be available at other specialty stores retailers in the US as well as Harrods in the U.K.
