Every minute of every day, something new is being created in the world of fashion! It’s constantly changing because quite frankly, fashion never sleeps. So, I feel that it’s very appropriate that it should get a night out every once in a while! Thursday, September 6, from coast to coast everyone who’s anyone in the industry will be celebrating Fashion’s Night Out! Stores in more than 500 cities nationwide are said to be participating in this event as well as a number of retailers, designers, beauty brands, and celebrities.
On this one night, the nation will come together for this shopping extravaganza. Fashionistas will enjoy rubbing shoulders with their favorite designers and celebrities, as well as enjoying fashion shows, musical performances, limited-edition merchandise and more.
For this year’s celebration, FNO has designed another unique capsule collection that includes men and women’s tees along with a stylish new tote. Keeping in trend with past years, 40 percent of the proceeds will benefit the New York City AIDS Fund in the New York Community Trust.
On this night, many stores will be hosting special events for FNO attendees:
Lord and Taylor will have an event at their Fifth Avenue flagship where each floor of the venue will host special guests, prizes, activities or entertainment. FNO participants will have the opportunity to meet past and present Project Runway designers in celebration of the shows 10th anniversary season. These designers include: Chris March, Nick Verros, Uli Herzner, Mondo Guerra, Korto Momolu, Bert Keeter, Jay McCarroll, Gordana Gelhausen and Seth Aaron Henderson!
Saks Fifth Avenue will host a rare appearance from Oscar de la Renta to launch his new fragrance. While other participants in FNO can hang with Erin Fetherston or get a new look from hairdresser, Edward Tricomi. Estée Lauder beauty experts will also be there for consultations.
Henri Bendel is the place to be if you’re looking for a bit more than just fashion. Cirque du Soleil acrobats will be performing for the fashion masses!
Macy’s is going to celebrate the opening of the largest shoe floor with the help of Michael Kors, who will be hosting a fashion-themed trivia game. Clinton Kelly of “What Not To Wear” fame will also be there giving out style tips
If you’re getting excited about these events, it only gets better when you think of the hundreds of stores participating in FNO, and the events that they’re planning as well. The possibilities are endless on this night!
