Pret Reporteur: Back-to-School, Back-to-Fashion

September 4, 2012 • Magazine, Pret Reporteur

It seems that this time of the year is dedicated to kids heading back to the school grind. No matter where you turn your head, the back-to-school theme is EVERYWHERE! So, since the kids have more than enough help planning their fall fashion looks, we decided it was time to let the grown-ups have a little fun. Here are the fall office fashion must-haves for you!

1. Theia Sequined Satin Dress, $695

If your days are filled with back-to-back meetings followed by an important business dinner, then you’re going to need a dress that’s going to work overtime like you. Theia‘s flirty frock features a flattering sequin boatneck on top and a classic pleated skirt in a popping saffron hue on the bottom. It’s the perfect dress that stylishly carries you from day to night, literally!

2. Valentino Rockstud Platform Pump, $895

Your Fashion 101 Class already taught you that nude peep-toe pumps are a staple in any girl’s closet. Valentino gave the classic footwear an edgy twist by adding studded details. They have an extra punk vibe, while maintaining a ladylike finish. Now that’s a commanding presence in the boardroom.

3. Wildfox Couture Manhattan Midnight Cardigan, $329

An air-conditioned breeze always finds its way into your office, and you inevitably reach for last year’s worn-out cardi. Don’t let a chill ruin your perfect planned outfit for today! Wildfox’s Midnight Cardigan has a more than stylish finish – with its gold sequins and ridged shawl lapel – and it’s sure to add extra pizzazz to any outfit you’re sporting.

4. Prada Scamosciato Hobo, $1450

There’s a reason why The Devil chose to wear Prada above all other designers in Lauren Weisberger’s famous novel, and that’s because she knew that Prada means business! Take for instance their Scamosciato Hobo: it has a classic silhouette that inconspicuously carries everything from an iPad to those very important meeting notes. And since leather is a major trend this season, its soft camel-colored suede exterior tells everyone that you’re just as stylin’ as EIC Miranda Preistly herself.

5. Kate Spade Maria Dress, $398

Are you looking to be the belle of the boardroom? Then Kate Spade’s Maria Dress is a definitely must-have for you! Its classic shift shape will pass any office dress code test, while small details such as its ruffled-edged sleeve and squiggle polka dot print keep it from looking too corporate.

6. House of Harlow Cocktail Ring, $95

Cocktail rings don’t necessarily need to be reserved for post-work happy hours. The oversized accessory adds extra flair to any corporate ensemble without losing professional face. This particular ring from Nicole Richie’s line features the signature House of Harlow sunburst design set to a silver and gold plate – a risky combo that totally works!
