Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Spring ’13: Pamella Roland’s Sleek Days And Evenings

September 7, 2012 • Fashion Blog, Fashion Shows, New York Fashion Week Spring '13

Summary: I seem to like Pamella Rowland more and more each year, and it’s not because I am getting older, but because she is fine-tuning her pieces. Many are even well-suited for younger women. A case in point is her black and white tuxedo style shantung shorts with a long jacket, or her ivory and black hand-painted silk faille coat paired with an ivory cotton top with black grosgrain detail down the front and pencil slim silk pants. For her Spring 2013 Collection Pamella Rowland offers day to evening separates influenced by her own busy lifestyle as a working mother. Nothing is better than black and white pieces for day to evening, especially with Rolland’s touch of embellishments such as playful exposed zippers,  grosgrain belts, and her signature shiny, liquid-like maco beading. This collection evokes modern elegance with a little bit of a James Bond 1960s feel, with classic column cut gowns styled with elbow length gloves, beaded halter dresses, simple and “tasteful” cut outs, and a geometric pattern of maco beading and color blocking pulling together this breathtaking collection.
