New York Fashion Week Spring ’13: Parkchoonmoo’s Modern Silhouettes and Traditional Colors

September 7, 2012 • Fashion Blog, Fashion Shows, New York Fashion Week Spring '13

Summary: Designer Demi Park infused her latest Parkchoonmoo collection with relics of traditional Korean fashion; creating constructive silhouettes using suspenders and layering with leather vests and mixing harem pants with classic button-down tops.  Park mixed the national Korean colors of red and blue with varying shades of cream and white. The strong contrast of a rustic red leather jacket on a stark white dress definitely raised eyebrows in the room. As for footwear, Park’s looks were styled with simple pointed-toe flats, keeping all eyes on the innovative looks on top. How can we describe Park’s collection in three words? Simple: modern, timeless, and fresh.

Colors: Blue, red, and a palette of creams and whites.

Fabrics & Textures: Cotton, soft leather, and touches of silk.

Key Looks: Burnt orange oversized sleeve leather jacket over a stark white shirtdress; Black harem pants, blue button-down top with a draping white overtop; Black harem pants topped with a tailored, belted black blazer.
