What do you get when you mix fashion with athleticwear (or fashion with fashion)? You get DEKA Chicago and when you see this sneak peak you will not only want to to walk, but run right over there! Chicago is lucky to have the second DEKA Store. The first was DEKA Atlanta opened by retail veteran Jim Whitlaw in 2007. Jim was was at Jeffrey, so the taste level is high at DEKA! I saw a cool collection of high-end pre and post-workout apparel as well as leisurewear including Adidas by Stella McCartney, Newton Running, Canada Goose, Adidas SLVR, Miche, Craft MPG, INHABIT, Splits 59 and the nation’s third Y3 “shop in shop.” I was gravitated towards all of the Y3 in the store.
I met Jim Whitlaw and I asked him what he loved more fashion or excercise and he said “Both!” I told him that his selections made me want to work out. “Even if you don’t work out, we have things that women want.” I asked him how he would describe DEKA in a few words and he told me it’s “For the active woman that likes nice things.” That describes it perfectly. There is jewelry, cashmere sweaters, coats, bags and accessories and pieces that you can wear to health club or to a night club! Take a look at what I saw and there is much, much more.
