Jennifer Lawrence is the new face of Miss Dior, L’Wren Scott starts on eyewear and Candie’s gets into beauty.

Jennifer Lawrence Joins Dior

Dior has tapped Jennifer Lawrence to be the next face of its Miss Dior handbag. The “Hunger Games” actress, who attended Dior’s couture show in July that marked the debut of designer Raf Simons, is expected to appear in her first Dior campaign this coming spring, with March 2013 magazines. According to Dior, it’s the young star’s first collaboration with a luxury brand.

Indeed, Lawrence said she’s still “getting up to speed” on fashion, while adding, “It’s impossible to be in the industry without getting even the slightest introduction to fashion.” On being a face of Dior, she said: “It’s such a dream to represent an iconic brand that is synonymous with high fashion.”

L’Wren Sets its Sights on Eyewear

With the introduction of her new eyewear collection, created through a partnership with Munich-based firm Menrad, L’Wren Scott is hoping her customer will go for the “look totale.” “I’ve always been obsessed with a head-to-toe look,” Scott told WWD. “I took into consideration that spring will arrive [in stores] at the same time as glasses [in mid-January and early February].”

The collection, which will retail from $249 to $399 at lwrenscott.com, has a corresponding advertising campaign created by House and Holme, featuring a rendering of a mysterious woman donning a sleek pair of gold cat-eye shades. Each of the 21 styles comes in three colorways mimicking fabric themes the designer incorporated into her spring ready-to-wear collection. She calls the lace effects, tweed prints, shiny metal finishes and embossed velvet all “very signature House of Scott,” as well as the color palette heavy on red and bordeaux.

Candie’s Launching Beauty Line

Candie’s, best known for its teenage-favored footwear, is sweetening up its offering with its first multicategory beauty collection, which will be available exclusively at Kohl’s this November. The initial introduction, which is now rolling out to kohls.com, includes 63 stockkeeping units. It is comprised of 20 nail polish shades, $8 each; eight lip gloss tubes and four lip gloss wands, also $8 each, and a total of 21 fragrances, including eau de toilettes and body sprays, priced from $25 to $35.

Candie’s will also offer bath and body products, beginning with five lotions and five shower gels, each $12. Seasonal, limited-edition kits are also planned. For instance, this year’s holiday set will contain items, such as eye shadow, mascara and eye pigments “It’s a natural progression for Candie’s to now give our girl even more of what she wants in multiple scents, different forms like sprays and lotions, and beauty to round out a lifestyle beauty collection,” said chief merchandising officer Lanie List.
