Dior Revealed Milan Boutique

Just days after the debut of the new creative director of Christian Dior, Raf Simons, Milan’s Via Montenapoleone, the fashion house’s renovated boutique, was unveiled. An exhibition titled “Lady Dior As Seen By” help mark and celebrate the opening. The exhibition was at the city’s Treiennale museum and will travel to Shanghai, Beijing, and Tokyo afterwards.

The two-story flagship location, originally opened in 2001, nearly doubled in size. Merchandise includes ready-to-wear, accessories, Dior Joaillerie, and Dior Horlogerie. A live mural with 124 LCD high-resolution screens, silk velvet curtains, Liu Jianhua porcelain sculptures, and a metallic-textured fireplace are just a few of the artistic pieces shown within the boutique. Milan’s Via Montenapoleone, which includes a VIP room, was designed to refer to Milan’s understated beauty.

Taylor Swift Kicks it With Keds

The famous country-pop star Taylor Swift just added a partnership to her work load with the famous sneaker maker, Keds. The deal involves a three year contract where Swift will represent the brand’s new direction. Also included in the deal is the singer’s own sneaker, a red pair of Keds that will only be offered online at Keds, Nordstorm, Journeys, and taylorswift.com for $50.

“I’ve been a fan of Keds for years, because they have two of my favorite elements of great style – they’re classic and effortless… I think they add something casual and cool to your look, and the new colors and patterns are so eclectic,” Swift spoke about the brand. Soon Swift’s album “Red” will hit stores on October 22, pairing with her red Keds.

Cynthia Rowley Collaborates with Belk

Cynthia Rowley, the popular 54-year-old contemporary designer, has learned to keep herself busy. The designer is currently signing a lease for a retail and art gallery with a plan to open in November. Japan will be celebrating her 10th anniversary with the her with a fashion show and dinner party with Elle Japan. Rowley also plans on creating additional swim and activewear, adding to her collection of prints, dresses, sportswear outfits, and footwear shown at her boutique. Despite her heavy schedule, this spring the launch of Cynthia Cynthia Rowley will open, an exclusive collection with Belk, Inc.

Belk is a regional department store based in Charlotte, N.C.. This collaboration will be Rowley’s third; her first with Target 12 years ago and with the brand Roxy in 2011. The launch, which takes place in March, will include handbags, jewelry, scarves, accessories and small leather goods along with apparel. Shoes are planned to be added in fall 2013, with prices for the entire line ranging $80 to $200.  Rowley emphasized how she will be designing every piece throughout the collaboration in order to ensure it matches both the Cynthia Rowley image and the Belk image.
