Dermalogica, a brand we adore here at Second City Style, has just launched a new multivitamin power serum that delivers synergistic dual benefits to aging skin (yes, I have aging skin, thank you): a potent, more skin-friendly form of Vitamin A, and a groundbreaking new formulation process which enhances the effectiveness of the serum.
The new serum expands Dermalogica’s AGE Smart™ line with the use of Hydroxypinacolone Retinoate (HPR), a retinoid ester which intercepts the earliest signs of aging, including photodamage. The benefits of this ingredient are maximized by the next generation in liposomal preparation technique, a laboratory process which allows for higher load-capacity—and therefore greater potency and effectiveness – in the formula. This innovative encapsulation technology dramatically differentiates the new serum from past eras of liposomes, with the delivery of more stable actives, and the placement of the increased dosage of vitamins deeper into the skin, where they can do the most good.
Use Dermologica’s Age Smart MultiVitamin Power Serum in the morning (it’s for day) as a counterpart to their Overnight Repair Serum. The new anti-oxidant-rich formula features Vitamins A, C, E and F to enhance cell-turnover, reduce hyperpigmentation, and ensure a smoother surface appearance. Unlike earlier iterations of retinol (Vitamin A) and its derivatives, the serum’s “hero” ingredient HPR does not trigger redness and irritation. This retinoid ester is readily available in the skin to stimulate cell turnover and to inhibit MMPs (enzymes) that degrade collagen and elastin.
In addition to HPR and an assortment of encapsulated vitamins including two forms of stabilized collagen known to stimulate Vitamin C production in the skin (MAP and Ascorbyl glucoside), multivitamin power serum is fortified with Palmitoyl Hexapeptide-14, a peptide that helps stimulate collagen biosynthesis and reduce the signs of aging in the skin.
I have been using this MultiVitamin Power Serum for a little over a week now and it makes a surprisingly wonderful primer. My makeup goes on smoothly and I am finding I need less. Now if my hyperpigmentation and sun damage fades away forever I will be a loyal fan!
