Fall ’12 Trend: Resurrecting 70s Prints

October 17, 2012 • Fashion Blog, Trends

I really don’t like to admit how old I am, but I distinctly remember some serious(ly bad) pea-green paisley print wallpaper in my parent’s pantry and an orange/yellow paisley print in another room in our house. Luckily, they are both long gone, but I swear I saw some similar patterns on the fall ’12 fashion runways. 70’s prints hold a special, yet terrifying place in my heart. Leave it to Marc Jacobs for Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs, Prada and Peter Som, to encourage us to once again rock the 70’s print. Now personally I am of the school of thought that women over 35 should maybe just wear one print at a time and not go head-to-toe pattern crazy unless they work in the fashion or another creative industry. But, hey, if you have the confidence that you won’t look like an extra from Willy Wonka’s movie set, then go for it! Here are ten 70’s print items we wouldn’t mind seeing again:

1. Jonathan Saunders Roselyn Printed Cotton-blend Pencil Skirt, $865

2. Topshop ‘Tapestry’ Floral Print Open Front Blazer, $136
