Alessandra Ambrosio with the multimillion dollar bra

Alessandra Ambriosio To Model Multimillion Dollar Floral Fantasy Bra

Brazilian model Alessandra Ambrosio waited 11 years to model the Victoria’s Secret $2.5million Fantasy Bra. She finally got her moment on Thursday as she unveiled the bejeweled garment at Victoria’s Secret Herald Square in New York City. The Floral Fantasy Bra Gift Set, designed exclusively for Victoria’s Secret by New Jersey-based London Jewelers, features a Very Sexy push-up bra studded with amethysts, sapphires and rubies, with a floral 20-carat diamond centerpiece. It is worn with a delicate belt, strung across the midriff, which sparkles with a further 5,200 precious stones. Ambrosio mentioned that she feels so honored to wear the Floral Fantasy bra and can’t wait to wear it in the show on December 4th.

The CFDA Welcomes Newest Members

The CFDA welcomed its new members last night with a cocktail party at their gorgeous new office on Bleecker Street. New members mingled with existing ones at the new NYC office. CFDA CEO Steven Kolb described the old office as “a very humble not-for-profit space. The CFDA is a fifty-year-old world class organization and we wanted a space that reflected that.” The modern space came together with a little help from friends. Ralph Lauren donated the paint, Samsung gave them a TV, and architectural firm SAYIGH+DUMAN designed the space pro bono. The rest came together on “a shoe string budget” to create a modern look with spectacular views downtown. The 26 new members celebrated last night included Joseph Altuzarra, Coomi Bhasin of Coomi, Vince Camuto, Jean-Michel Cazabat, Emily Current of Current Elliot, Carly Cushnie of Cushnie et Ochs, Rachel Dooley of Gemma Redux, Meritt Elliot of Current Elliot, Judy Geib, Nili Lotan, Pamela Love, Paul Marlow of Loden Dager, Jana Matheson, Yvan Mispelaere, Lauren Moffatt, Jeffrey Monteiro, Leann Nealz, Kerry O’Brien of Commando, Michelle Ochs of Cushnie et Ochs, Shimon Ovadia of Ovadia & Sons, Ariel Ovadia of Ovadia & Sons, Gabriela Perezutti of Candela NYC, Lisa Perry, Tadashi Shoji, Tabitha Simmons, and Rachel Zoe.

Banana Republic To Do Third ‘Mad Men’ Collection.

Banana Republic collaborated with AMC on its third “Mad Men” collection, which will be in select stores worldwide on March 1st. The collections for men and women has evolved along with the popular series set in ad land and is now centered on Beatlemania. Megan Draper, played by Jessica Paré, informs the look of the latest collection. “Our inspiration was Megan, Don’s wife,” Janie Bryant, the show’s costume designer and collaborator on the “Mad Men” collections, said. “Megan represents the young and modern. She really represents a changing of the times.” Banana Republic creative director and executive vice president Simon Kneen said Draper is more adventurous than Don’s first wife, Betty. “Obviously, Megan’s influence in the series, and her character is fabulous,” he said. “She takes risks and is a little bit more in the know in terms of fashion.” Kneen said he’ll never tire of the collaboration because “Janie looks at what people were wearing at the time. It’s certainly not costume. It’s real clothes for today.” Prices for the 50-piece collection range from $49.50 to $140 for women’s apparel and $44.50 to $375 for men’s wear. Accessories range in price from $29.50 to $128.
