It has finally happened. I have truly found a foundation I might actually like better than my beloved Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation which I have been faithful to (other than testing other foundations) for about 8 years now. I know I was a little late to the Yves Saint Laurent Touche Éclat love-fest having just started using this cult classic concealer pen last year (even though it has been out since 1992), but at least I made it. So last week when I was wasting some time in my favorite store, Sephora, I asked one of the makeup consultants about the most recent incarnation…Yves Saint Laurent Le Teint Touche Éclat Illuminating Foundation. Yes, it is now a foundation!
When I explained I was a devoted fan of Luminous Silk, she assured me this foundation was even better. “It makes your skin glow.” Hm. I have heard this countless times before and I always go back to Armani. However, I am not above a heavenly glow. Apparently this unique formula targets shadowy areas and define contours. The formula is free of opaque powders and evens the complexion and erases imperfections, enhancing the face’s natural features.
So she helped me pick out my best shade (there are 16) and I could not wait to get home to try it! Well, what can I say? This foundation is weightless and makes your skin appear as if it was infused with a magic light…or like someone was following you with candlelight! I don’t even need extra concealer to cover the little imperfections and the look is natural and effortless. I look, dare I say, luminous? I might not have found the Fountain of Youth, but I can certainly look like I have. So can you. Aging backwards has a nice ring to it!
