Scarf season is coming, but can’t we be more creative with our winter scarfs. Fresh patterns and exciting colors inspire a world of ways to keep warm without wrapping cloth around the neck and hoping for the best. Here are a few different techniques from Sir Alistair Rai to keep you warm and cozy while still keeping it fresh and exciting.
The Oversized Handkerchief
Fold the printed scarf diagonally in half two times to make the triangular shape. Wrap the two ends of the scarf around the neck and tie at the nape to secure it in place. Tuck the ends into the folds of the scarf and shift the whole scarf slightly so the point isn’t facing directly down.
The Shoulder Shrug
Try this method with a slightly larger scarf for more movement. Wrap the scarf around the back so that your neck sits in the middle of one of the sides of the square. Take the two ends nearest your neck and wrap them around your shoulders. Tie the two ends behind your back while the remainder of the scarf flows over the knot.
The Infinity Loop
Fold the scarf lengthwise to achieve the thickness and body desired. Tie the two ends of the scarf together to create the loop. Place the scarf around your neck and twist over your head once more. Hide the loose ends in the scarf and fluff the loops to achieve the desired look.
