Neimans and Target and CFDA….Oh My!

So last night I ventured through a local New Yorker’s nightmare (the Christmas Tree Lighting which is wall-to-wall people!) to make it to the press preview for the launch of the highly anticipated Neiman Marcus/Target Epic Holiday Collaboration. It was a labor of love trying to get there and I almost gave up. In the end, I’m glad I didn’t, but by the time I arrived I was not in any mood for idle chit-chat. I needed a glass of champagne and a cart. Time to get my shop on. Even though I had arrived 15 minutes into the event jam-packed with every editor, designer and blogger in the city…I was still too late to get my hands on a few things I wanted. Even though there was a 5 item limit…the racks and shelves were emptying fast!

In case you have not seen the ad on TV or live under a rock, launching December 1 is a high/low first! Yes, Neiman Marcus and Target have colloborated with 24 CFDA designers (announced back in July) with a holiday gift collection, chalk full of giftable items for women, men, children, pets and home.

At the press preview last night I saw more designers under one roof then I have seen….well ever. Mind you, I skated right past them all. Lela Rose…no time to chat. Prabal…see ya later. Brian Atwood, you’re HOT but I gotta shop! Then I had to get the heck out! I grabbed my Proenza Schouler sweatshirt, Brian Atwood gloves and one last quick glass of champagne and tried to flag down a cab. I had to get to another event uptown and had wasted too much time skating through crowds to shop!
