Holiday Gift Guide: For The Kidlettes

December 10, 2012 • Fashion Blog, Holiday

This gift guide was a little difficult for me. I’m not going to lie. I only have boys so that’s really all I know anymore. I have learned to turn my head away from the girl’s department when walking into any children’s store unless I have to buy a birthday present. Who would have thought little girls would confound me? I am such a girly-girl. At any rate, some of these gifts I have picked have ‘girl’ versions (like the Pottery Barn Kids lunch box) so there is something in here for every child or tween. Here are our holiday gift picks for kids:

1. Junk Food Toddlers Boys Superman All American Raglan, $36

My older son loves anything ‘superhero’ so I adore these vintage looking tees by Junk Food. They currently also have a great selection at Gap.

2. Baghera Metal Fire Engine Pedal Car from France, $196

A little Mercedes is so expected. This gorgeous vintage inspired French firetruck is not!

3. Arm & Hammer Spinbrush Tooth Tunes, Round & Round, Soft, $9.99

Why shouldn’t brushing your teeth be fun too? There are various color combos and songs available. Of course we prefer vintage rock in our household. Good for both girls and boys.

4. My Very Merry Christmas Coloring and Activity Book, $9.95

My son and I have been coloring this personalized holiday coloring book daily since we got it! He loves seeing his name in every picture! Also available at this site are personalized holiday placemats and books. Again great for both girls and boys!

5. Eco-wooden Cars with Tool Kit, $44

If you have a little boy who likes to take things apart and put them back together again, or at least try, this set is a great place to start.

6. Fairies Porcelain Tea Party Set for 4, from Germany, $83

What little girl doesn’t like to serve tea to her stuffed animals? Well now she can with an heirloom-quality tea set featuring beautiful illustrations from the original Beatrix Potter stories.

7. La Martina Red and Navy Hooded Jacket, $147

Every little boy (including my own) have the same Ralph Lauren puffer jacket, so why not be a little different?

8. Princess Personalized Dish Set, $18

What little princess doesn’t want her own personalized dish set?

9. Hello Kitty Say Hello Palette – Wild Thing, $36

This kit is perfect for that girly-girl tween you have or that girlfriend that won’t grow up!

10. DinoBox–Dinosaurs Stencil Kit, $9.50

My son is obsessed with all things dinosaur. Done and done!

11. Boys’ Anywhere Chair Collection, Now $99-$159

Sure I picked out the boy version, but there are plenty of options for girls as well at Pottery Barn Kids.

12. KidKraftDeluxe Teatime Townhouse, $169

When I was a little girl my mother was more into my dollhouse than I was, but whatever.

13. Mackenzie Blue Camo Lunch Bags, Now $18

Pottery Barn Kids to the rescue again! I actually buy these as birthday gifts for both boys and girls. The personalized lunch box makes school a little more fun for all.

14. Avon Drum to the Beat Set, $34.99

I am sure I will live to regret getting this for my son, but at the time it seemed like a really good idea.

15. Shaggy Dog Sleeping Bags, Now $69

Make slumber parties more fun with these adorable sleeping bags. Added bonus? They are on sale!
