Neiman Marcus has named Walter Chin as the photographer for the spring 2013 Art of Fashion Campaign.
Jamaican-born Walter Chin was raised in Toronto and graduated from art school specializing in contemporary painting. He then received a master’s degree in photography. Today, Chin’s portfolio encompasses fashion photography, celebrity portraits and advertising campaigns for big names like Hermes, Chanel and Missoni.
Chin can now be placed in the same category as the other notable Art of Fashion photographers such as Richard Avedon, Arthur Elgort, Helmut Newton and Annie Leibovitz.
Making its debut nearly two decades ago, The Art of Fashion was revolutionary in the sense that it featured cutting-edge fashion as well as provocative photography. This spring campaign will include 22 pages of fashions that will appear in the March edition of the retailer’s publication, The Book. Designer merchandise that will be featured include: Chanel, Alexander McQueen, Valentino, Tom Ford, Stella McCartney, Gucci, Oscar de la Renta and many other high-end designers.
