Summary: Inspired by American roots and the old west, Veronica Beard’s Fall 2013 collection centers around a theme of bohemian rusticness.
Color was an essential, as made evident in the billowing A-line skirts in clover green and clementine orange. Prints were busy, geometric, and very feminine. Metallic accents in gold and bronze livened up the looks: a traditional trench coat in copper cinched with a leather belt, a golden cigarette-leg pants. Beard keeps her collection very feminine, with slim-cut pants that hug the hips, silk tie neck blouses, and elegant silks. However, Beard also adds masculine accents such as an oversized, heavy black leather vest jacket, black leather bustier jumpsuit, and herringbone suits with black leather piping.
“The color palette hums “America the Beautiful” – the blues of spacious skies, and golds and browns of amber waves of grain, the purple mountain majesties and lush greens of the wilderness run throughout,” said Beard.
As the saying goes, no girl is ever complete without her accessories. Leather belts keep the silhouettes girly while a raccoon tail hats add to the All-American West vibe of the collection.
