Summary: With Yigal Azrouël, you know walking in that every single piece is sure to be a classical show-stopper. Of course, the Fall 2013 ready-to-wear collection was no exception. The energy of danger and desire was the goal of Azrouël what creating this collection while hinting at the ideal of a poisoned flower. “The subject is a mysterious poisonous flower,” said Azrouël of the collection. “[It is] so delicate and filled with beauty that you can’t resist, but if pursued, it may kill you.”. The fall collection steers towards effortless sophistication with a slight edge. With he color palate flaunted mystic blue, orchid and forest green, Azrouël made if abundantly clear that he wanted to keep the garden theme in plain sight of the viewer.

The peplum shapes added a trend-right touch to the pieces while the sleek and classic silhouettes kept it modern. The tailoring was kept sharp and confident with a structured form. Cutouts added a touch of skin but still, without being too vulgar or leaving little to the imagination. Subtle hints of python and pony hair added another luxurious touch to evening dresses and outerwear. These are the investment pieces you strive for in your closet. It is a catch-22 to want a designer like Azrouël to shoot outside of his comfort zone. Because he is designing classic pieces for the everyday woman, it would be a sin to have a talented designer like that to move out of that position. It would cheapen the value of his brand and he would knowingly be alienating his key demographic.
