Jennifer Lawrence tapped for Miss Dior Campaign

It’s been a big year so far for Jennifer Lawrence. Last night the actress won an Academy Award for her role in Sliver Linings Playbook. She also won a Golden Globe for the performance, and Dior has certainly taken notice. Jennifer is the new face of Miss Dior and the ads will appear in the April issues of all your favorite fashion glossies.

Jennifer exudes sophistication and glamour in the campaign for the classic Miss Dior bag. She wears looks from the spring ready-to-wear collection by Dior’s new couturier Raf Simons.

Valentino’s Paris Flagship Renovation Complete

Valentino is bringing a touch of Roman glamour to Paris with its newly renovated flagship on Avenue Montaigne. A dinner party will mark the store’s official opening on March 5, after the Valentino show. The boutique was under renovations for all of 2012. A new store in New York will follow this year and a renovation of the London Sloane Square store is in the works for 2013 as well.

“Paris’ Avenue Montaigne boutique has always been the most important, with the most relevant sales and the brand shows in Paris,” said chief executive officer Stefano Sassi. “The location is fundamental; Paris was a priority after Milan, where we fine-tuned the concept.”

The 4,305-square-foot women’s store has a streamlined feel to it and each room has a different character. On the first floor, there is a prét-à-porter lounge with a black-and-white marble hallway leading to a smaller mirrored room reserved for shoes. On the other side, library shelves display bags. The second floor contains an “evening room,” where the house’s signature embroidered gowns stand out against the backdrop of the Eiffel Tower. The Valentino flagship is the only boutique on the Avenue Montaigne with an unobstructed view of Paris’ most recognizable landmark.

Dior has a New Home in São Paulo

The house of Dior closed its freestanding boutique on Haddock Lobo Street, once the hottest shopping spot in the city, and reopened a store twice the size in Shopping Cidade Jardim. The new Dior boutique is in the same mall that houses the only Louis Vuitton store in Latin America. The 5,380-square-foot boutique opens with Raf Simons’ cruise and spring collections and, for the first time, timepieces. The team at Dior has been planning the move for the past three years.

“I love the concept of Cidade Jardim, with the open sky and très raffiné [very refined], not a mass market place. A brand of high luxury like Dior must be located where the client can leave the car with the valet parking, go to a nice restaurant or drink a cafezinho.” said Sidney Toledano, Dior’s chief executive officer.
