Spring ’13 FashionTrend: Sheer Elegance

sheer elegance

I’m off the belief that a little bit of sheer goes a long way. The sheer trend is huge for Spring ’13 as evidenced by the spring runways of designers such as Donna Karan, Emilio Pucci, Chado Ralph Rucci, Christopher Kan, Preen Calvin Klein, Proenza Schouler and so many more. Yet, the line between looking elegant and trashy is very thin. We of course prefer looking the former, not the later. If you are over the age of 35, we recommend a touch of sheer in a place that is flattering, like the neck or hem. You don’t want to be exposing any side boob, a slit up to you-know-where or a stomach that is not rock solid. Consider sheer as an overlay on basic garments or a sheer blouses with embellishments with a conservative underpining to hide what should be hidden. Don’t think you can pull off the ultra sheer looks from the runway if you are not comfortable. The point of this trend is add a hint of romance to your look, not a hint of Madonna if you catch my drift. Here are 10 sheer items we found to help you get a jump start of sheer elegance:
