Spring 2013 Trend: Asian Persuasion

February 28, 2013 • Fashion Blog, Trends

If the Spring ’13 runways of Emilio Pucci, Prada, Mulberry, Etro, Mugler, 3.1 Phillip Lim and Proenza Schouler were any indication the Far East has had a major influence on Western fashions for yet again, another season. Traditional Eastern prints were given an American flair in Asian inspired prints like peonies, fire dragons, lotus flowers, and hibiscus motifs. Remember buying that leather obi you just had to have in 2006? Well that was just the tip of the iceberg. Designers are proving the silky, shiny and embroidered fabrics aren’t going anywhere anytime soon. In fact, you will notice more kimonos and origami pleating this season and even into next fall. So without further ado here are 10 Asian inspired items were are lusting for for Spring ’13:

1. Burberry Prorsum Silk-satin Wedge Pumps,$695

2. Pedre 6400SX Red Asian Floral/Silver Tone Watch, $119.95

3. 3.1 Phillip Lim Embroidered Pintuck Shirtdress, $750

4. Issa London Deep-V Silk Kimono Maxi Dress, $797

5. Roberto Cavalli Printed Stretch-jersey Dress, $950

The Issa London maxi dress is definitely something I would wear and wear. It has a style that won’t be outdated by next season.
