Mistaken Identity?

Wednesday night, London will be buzzing with A-listers at the opening of “David Bowie Is.” However, the Victoria & Albert’s retrospective on Bowie’s career might have a few surprises in store. It is rumored that the man of the hour might actually be the woman of the hour. “According to industry sources, Tilda Swinton, who appears in Bowie’s video for his latest single ‘The Stars (Are Out Tonight),’ will be impersonating Bowie in his absence.”

It has not been confirmed whether Bowie will actually make an appearance at the gala. The museum on the other hand is being very tight-lipped on what Swinton is planning on wearing for the occasion. Do I sense a conspiracy? Some notable guests for the event will include Kate Moss, Bill Nighy, Christopher Kane and Tracey Emin to name a few.

Lagerfeld Makes Movie Magic

Later this week, Karl Lagerfeld will make a short movie to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the first Chanel boutique. The movie which features Kiera Knightly is to be screened in May when Lagerfeld is scheduled to be in Singapore to debut Chanel’s next cruise collection. Knightly is to play the legend herself, Gabrielle Chanel, in this short film. Clotilde Hemse, a French actress, is going to play Chanel’s aunt Adrienne.

The first Chanel store which opened in the seaside town of Deauville, France is to be recreated with retro sets for this film. Also featured are a slew of Lagerfeld’s favorite models and a few lucky members of his entourage.
