Luxury fashion company Belstaff dismissed a handful of employees last week amid restructuring. CEO Harry Slatkin, let go of eight employees because of “a singular incident” and “part of a normal restructuring of a company of over 200 employees.” Slatkin jetted off to Palm Beach after the changes were made, which raised eyebrows. He then made a weak attempt to boost morale by sending an e-mail to the staff encouraging them to “keep their heads up.” However, Slatkin regularly spends weekends in Palm Beach and went last weekend because his daughter was on spring break.
“Harry’s e-mail addressed the staff restructuring and the consequential emotional outburst from some of those let go,” a rep for the company said. There’s always drama in the fashion world! Fans of the brand include Plum Sykes, Gemma Kidd, and Poppy Delevigne.
