Schiaparelli to Unveil Christian Lacroix Collaboration

Schiaparelli will unveil a 15-piece collection designed by Christian Lacroix as a tribute to Elsa Schiaparelli. The looks will be unveiled at Schiaparelli’s headquarters at 21 place Vendôme in July in Paris during the couture shows. The company said that many different modern artists will continue to celebrate Schiaparelli and collaborate on a collection honoring the designer on a yearly basis.

“In this persona incarnating a true aristocrat, one finds a spirit where mathematics and literature as well as poetry coexist: Elsa is a sacred sphinge who never ceases to interrogate uswhile offering us new enigmas as answers,” said Lacroix.

Boston Retail is Healing

As investigators are combing the crime scene for evidence from the Boston Marathon bombings, workers and residents in downtown Boston are trying to resume some sense of normalcy. A sales associate at Free People, said the mood at The Shops at Prudential Center on Wednesday was “better than it was yesterday. A lot more stores were closed yesterday. It’s starting to pick up. There’s some traffic coming through the Prudential Center today. Along Boylston Street, mainly restaurants remain closed because they’re at the crime scene.”

“We felt it was important to open today,” A Saks Fifth Avenue employee said. “We wanted to get everyone together.” Saks Fifth Avenue also hired grief counselors to speak to the staff. “Our general manager made everyone feel comfortable about being safe.”
