Oscar de la Renta Launches Bridal Scent
Oscar de la Renta caused much excitement at his fragrance event at Bloomingdale’s. The scent, called Something Blue, is sold exclusively at Bloomingdale’s and could top $500,000 in sales by the end of the year. The fragrance is priced from $65-$115.
“I think Oscar represents great style, great consistency through the years, great sense of fashion and a great sense of integrity,” said Michael Gould, chairman and CEO of Bloomingdale’s. “And I think that combination is unbeatable.” Oscar de la Renta had only positive things to say about recently working with John Galliano.
Adidas Designs Shirt to Benefit Marathon Victims
Adidas unveiled a limited-edition “Boston Stands as One” T-shirt to benefit victims of Monday’s bombings. Adidas has sponsored the 26.2-mile race for the past 25 years. To pay tribute to the race’s distance, the shirts retail for $26.20. They are available for purchase at the Boston Athletic Association and Adidas websites. The company will donate 100 percent of the proceeds to The One Fund Boston Inc., which was established Wednesday to help the people affected by last Monday’s tragedy.
“The selflessness and compassion demonstrated by the city of Boston, the first responders, the Boston Athletic Association and all marathon volunteers in providing assistance to the injured have stuck with us and inspired us,” said Adidas America president Patrik Nilsson. “We commend Boston — and those associated with the city and the marathon — for their reaction to this very challenging situation. We applaud them for standing together as one on Monday and in the days which have followed.”
Cosabella Celebrates 30th Anniversary
Lingerie brand Cosabella is celebrating its 30th anniversary with a party at the Cosabella flagship and showrooms in Manhattan. The event featured vintage intimates, loungewear, sleepwear, swimwear, and dating back to 1983 with the company’s birth.
It has expanded into a second-generation family business led by the children of the husband-and-wife founders Ugo and Valeria Campello. The couple started the company in their garage. Cosabella first became popular in the mid-Eighties and has become known for its lingerie in bright colors. The company opened 527 new shops-in-shop at JC Penney in the U.S. this year with a diffusion brand called “Cosabella Amore.”
Janice Dickinson, The World’s First Supermodel…Is Super Broke
According to the NY Post the cray-cray self-proclaimed world’s first supermodel Janice Dickinson has declared bankruptcy. Court papers show she has racked up nearly $1 million in debt and has stiffed everyone from the government to various plastic surgeons.
Her unpaid taxes date back more than a decade, with more than $500,000 due to New York state, California and the IRS.Looks like it’s time to find another reality show.
