Alexander Wang has been rising to the challenge of Balenciaga‘s creative director since being appointed. He’s debuted his first collection for the fashion house, and now he’s hard at work on his first advertising campaign. Wang went for a “very cinematic portrayal” with his debut collection.
Photographer Steven Klein and model Kristen McMenamy were both tapped for this campaign. However, the focus of the ad will be on the texture, detail and crafting of the clothes not particularly on the model herself.
This fall campaign is supposed to appear in a range of June magazine issues. It will also appear at the new Balenciaga women’s store which is under construction at 148 Mercer Street in Manhattan. The store is scheduled to open this fall as well.
