Sharleen Ernster Lazear Leaves Victoria’s Secret for Guess Inc. 

Sharleen Ernster Lazear, a longtime Victoria’s Secret executive was hired as the chief design officer of the Guess Inc., the L.A.-based jeanswear and sportswear company. She will be responsible for all categories of merchandise for the Guess and Marciano brands, including licensed products.

After the departure of Nancy Shachtman, the brand’s North American president, in March Hillary Super joined the company as senior vice president and general merchandise manager that April. Now, Lazear has been called upon to fill the second executive position.

“We are very happy to welcome Sharleen to guide a strong vision for Guess brands, and I will work side-by-side with her,” Marciano said.

Mr Porter and Alexander Wang Celebrate Collaboration

Monday night, the upstairs bar of restaurant Coya in London was filled with people celebrating the new collaboration between Mr Porter and Alexander Wang. This is the second season that the company will be working with Wang, and the capsule collection will be launching on June 4.

“… it’s nice to have a capsule from him available at a time when other shops will not have a lot of new stock and nothing new from him,” Toby Bateman, Mr Porter buying director said.

Exclusive designer capsule collections are nothing new for Mr Porter’s sister site,, but up next on Mr Porter’s to-do list is an exclusive 13-piece collection from Raf Simons.

Danielle Luquet de Saint Germain Auctions Off Couture Collection

Muse, model and friend of the late Yves Saint Laurent, Danielle Luquet de Saint Germain will auction off 10,000 pieces of couture items in her wardrobe. Items by Azzedine Alaïa, Paco Rabanne, Christian Lacroix and YSL will be auctioned off this October in Paris. It’s not clear why Luquet is parting ways with these couture pieces, but this collection that is “billed as one of the world’s most significant private holdings of couture” will now be available to the public.

“The collection will be auctioned off in about three rounds, according to Gros & Delettrez, the first of which will take place Oct. 14, preceded by an exhibition from Oct. 2 to Oct. 5 and again on Oct. 12.”
