French Edition of Harper’s Bazaar Launching
Hearst Magazines and Marie Claire are planning to launch a French edition of Harper’s Bazaar with French journalist Alexandra Senes as the editor in chief. Hearst is working on the internationalization of Harper’s Bazaar, with Germany and Japan editions launching by the end of 2013. These three new publications will bring the total number of editions of Harper’s Bazaar to 30. The magazine plans to publish 12 issues a year and target a high-scale readership. This is the first time Marie Claire will be collaborating on an edition of Harper’s Bazaar.
Nicola Formichetti Will be Featured in Zero Zero
Nicola Formichetti, Diesel’s new artistic director, is slated to unveil a racy art project involving a fragrance, photo shoots, performance art, original music, and an exhibition. The final result is the second issue of “Zero Zero,” an art book published annually by V Group. Formichetti collaborated with photographer Miles Aldridge and conceptual artist and fashion designer Kaimin for the project. Gavin Russom also created two original tracks for the book. The perfume, which comes in a test-tube-like bottle, resembles blood and gets absorbed invisibly into the skin.
Topshop Ready for Hong Kong Debut
Topshop is set to open its first store in China on June 6. The brand’s Fashion Truck will roll into town for the festivities, giving away treats, gift cards, and the Topshop’s magazine. There are activities planned for opening day including live music, giveaways, and special guest appearances. The celebration will continue over the opening weekend far after Sir Philip Green cuts the ribbon.
The 14,000 square foot Hong Kong flagship will carry Unique, Topshop’s collection that shows during London Fashion Week; Boutique, the brand’s premium line; designer collaborations; and the main collections. Shoppers at the Hong Kong flagship can also buy Leigh Jeans and Topshop Makeup. There will also be t-shirts and beanie hats exclusive to the store.
