Armani Profits Up 20% in 2012

The Milan-based fashion group,Giorgio Armani SpA logged another year of gains in profits and revenues in 2012, which is expecting the momentum to continue this year.

“The excellent results achieved in 2012 confirm the quality of leadership that we have here at Armani,” said the designer, who is chairman of the fashion house he founded almost four decades ago. He underscored how the figures are “the result of a strategy focused on the constant search for quality, an approach that over the years has built an extraordinary level of brand awareness and loyalty.”

Stella McCartney and L’Oréal Part Ways

The two “have made the mutual decision not to renew their license agreement after the contract ends on September 12, 2013,” L’Oréal Paris said in a statement. “As a result of their mutual decision, L’Oréal will focus on concentrating on its other brands, while Stella McCartney will pursue its fragrance and beauty business.”

L’Oréal acquired the Stella McCartney beauty business in May 2008 including what was billed then to be the first designer organic skin care brand on the market  McCartney’s major beauty projects have included two fragrances, L.I.L.Y. and a signature scent, and the treatment line called Care by Stella McCartney. Currently you will notice a lot of beauty brands making changes.

Nicholas Kirkwood Opens New Las Vegas Store

Gamble and spend fashionably! British designer Nicholas Kirkwood opened his second U.S. store at Las Vegas’ Wynn hotel on Friday and quietly introduced a revamped website including e-commerce. The 1,400-square-foot Vegas store contains the current spring collection, with pre-fall arriving in the coming weeks. Kirkwood designed a series of limited-edition styles that will only be available at the Las Vegas boutique in June. A $1,295 pump, has a pointy toe adorned with Swarovski Elements, with a metal heel and comes in black, strawberry or ocean blue. and a gold and black zigzag pump with Swarovski crystals will retail for $2,995.
