Riccardo Tisci and Carine Roitfeld Join Forces on Givenchy Campaign
Riccardo Tisci tapped Carine Roitfeld style his fall campaign for Givenchy. She also appeared in it with her daughter, Julia Restoin Roitfeld. Tisci also cast actress Amanda Seyfried, the new face of Very Irresistible Givenchy perfume. Models Mariano Ontañon and Dalianah Arekion and Spanish actor Quim Gutiérrez posed for the campaign as well. Tisci noted the images have a “gypsy feeling” and his inspiration was his protagonists because they “are real gypsies in their own lives. They are never in one place. They travel the world.” The campaign will debut in July and will appear in the September issue of Vogue.
Marc Jacobs to Launch Honey Fragrance
Marc Jacobs’ latest fragrance is Honey, the follow up to Dot. The scent has top notes of pear, juicy mandarin, and fruity punch. At its heart are orange blossom, honeysuckle, and peach nectar, and it has base notes of golden vanilla, honey, and smooth woods. The eaux de parfum is available in three sizes, with prices ranging from $52 to $92. Body lotion and shower gel will also be sold.
Coty Buys Asian Beauty Company
Coty Inc. has inked a deal to buy StarAsia, a beauty products distributor for Southeast Asian markets. Coty will acquire the company from Isibane Pte. Ltd. “The acquisition of StarAsia will provide us with an established distribution platform to sell our mass brands in key developing markets in the Southeast Asia region,” said Michele Scannavini, Coty’s chief executive. “We look forward to welcoming the StarAsia organization into the Coty family, and I am confident that the talented team there will fit in very well at Coty.”
