Sheryl Lowe was at Neiman Marcus on Michigan Avenue last Friday with her jewelry trunk show (and yes her husband Rob Lowe stopped by, too!). A luncheon was held in The Zodaic for members of the Lynn Sage Cancer Research Foundation where they had the chance to meet the designer in a more intimate setting. The ladies were treated to informal modeling and were able to try on selections from the collection while getting first hand styling advice from the designer. The women snapped up gorgeous dangling earring with natural stones and pave trim and bracelets with antique beads and chain tassels. The beauty of Sheryl Lowe Designs is her pieces can be worn casually and also transition into evening seamlessly.
On the main floor that day was the actual trunk show of Sheryl Lowe designs with an ample selection. “I was not sure, so I hope I did not bring too much!” Sheryl said. “People told me that women in Chicago were more conservative, but I have gone with my gut in the past and found that most really like the edgier pieces.” And the “edgier pieces” with lock and key ornamentation and cross charms were a hit. Her pieces include beads of pearl, bone, onyx, coral, pyrite, sandalwood, Yemen Coral, antique glass, and pave diamonds.
It was truly a pleasure to meet Sheryl Lowe. She told me she wishes she could spend more time in Chicago since her mother and grandmother were born here. She had only visited once before (when she was on Oprah). She is friends with Maria Shriver who gave her advice on her business which led her to earmark ‘Shery Lowe designs’ with a portion of all proceeds going to various women and children charities.
