Designer Caitlin Kelly Launching Luxury Swimwear

Caitlin Kelly is set to launch her first independent collection of swimwear for spring 2014. The upscale 35-piece collection will be shown in July at the Miami Swim Show. It will also be featured in a Mercedes-Benz fashion show at the Cabana Grande of The Raleigh hotel. Kelly started her career in 2006 designing the swimwear line for Badgley Mischka. She then moved to Aerin Rose Swimwear and was the head designer.

Now Kelly wants to design her own and created a collection of bathing suits that have the look and feeling of eveningwear. She has even incorporated Italian lace on a few styles. Kelly’s most versatile piece is called Endless Possibilities and can be worn dozens of ways.

“I like to work with fabrics that are not traditionally used in swimwear. These fabrics are unique and exclusive and are chlorine and salt water safe,” said Kelly. The collection will be sold at Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, and Caitlin-kelly.com. The pieces will range in price from $280 to $600.

BaubleBar Pops Up in SoHo Tomorrow

Attention fashionable New Yorkers! BaubleBar will pop up in New York’s SoHo neighborhood at 131 Greene Street starting tomorrow. The Pop-up will be open through August 13th and is open to everyone. Store hours are Monday through Saturday from 10 am to 8 pm and Sundays from 11 am and 7 pm. This is the second Manhattan pop-up store this year; at the first in February the company sold two-and-a-half weeks’ worth of inventory within the first day-and-a-half of being open.

Baccarat Opens New York Flagship

Baccarat is celebrating 250 years of heritage! The French luxury crystal-maker opened a new flagship store in NYC located at 635 Madison Avenue. The space is gorgeous with black granite floors and walls decorated with ebony. Mirrors and diamond-cut crystal also accessorize the space. The brand’s jewelry, chandeliers, tableware, and lighting are all on display. Baccarat is also hoping attract a younger customer by showcasing some of its edgier items. The new flagship includes a jewelry salon and a lounge as well.
