A Night With Giorgio Armani in Rome
Giorgio Armani threw a “One Night Only Roma” party last night in Rome. Fashionable guests included Sophia Loren, Tina Turner, Samuel L. Jackson, Milla Jovovich, Bérénice Bejo, designer Laura Biagiotti and Olympic swimmer Federica Pellegrini.
They all viewed Armani’s “Eccentrico” exhibit, where some of the designer’s creations are featured against a starry night sky backdrop. Then guests relocated to a catwalk for a runway show featuring the Giorgio Armani and Emporio Armani fall collections for men and women. The designer also showed the spring Giorgio Armani Privé collection. After the runway show, the after party had 700 people in attendance. Mr. Armani sure knows how to throw a fabulous party!
Saint Laurent to Open in SoHo
Saint Laurent has an NYC store on East 57th Street and recently opened one downtown as well. The stores have different personalities, according to WWD. The new space is located at 80 Greene Street, and features architectural elements such as skylights, columns, tin ceilings, and concrete floors. Most of the SoHo store is devoted to women’s merchandise, including ready-to-wear and jewelry. Menswear and is also available at the new location.
Heidi Slimane’s newly designed spaces can be seen in four in-store shops at Bergdorf Goodman and Saks Fifth Avenue. The brand has also opened new stores in Bal Harbour, Dallas, and Short Hills, N.J. The brand will also open its long awaited store in Chicago this fall on Rush Street.
Barneys Renovates Their Men’s Accessories Floor
Barneys has finished the renovation of the men’s accessories department at its Madison Avenue flagship after almost two years of work. The space is bright and airy with a masculine touch, featuring polished stainless steel, white oak paneling, and white marble. The 230,000-square-foot NYC store will continue to be renovated one floor at a time. The sixth floor, housing men’s clothing and women’s designer merchandise, is being renovated now and is expected to be finished in August.
