It’s the beginning of June which can only mean one thing for us fashion obsessed: summer sales! How can you not love waking up to your email box every morning and finding out that Shopbop, Net-a-Pôrter, Saks Fifth Avenue and the like have all of your favorites for a (somewhat) lower price? Now it the time to purchase those luxury brands you’ve been eyeing the last three seasons.
I have always been a staunch advocator of buying high-end luxury labels. There’s nothing better than looking in your closet and seeing what all of your hard work has amounted to: clothing that will last forever. It’s nice to buy fast fashion every once in a while but sometimes you want to get something that can be handed down from generation to generation (or at least make a good swap for your girlfriends).
As for wearing your luxury pieces, I say wear them as much as you please! Have you ever heard of the “cost per wear” ratio? Basically, take the total amount of the item, divided by estimated number of days you plan on wearing it. That’s the cost per wear! I suggest figuring it out for every item. If it’s a pair of neon stiletto Jimmy Choos, you might not get much wear out of them, but if it’s the perfect all-weather, day-to-night Prada jacket, go for it!
Go for the gold… just make sure you love it!
