Finally! A capsule collection that is both fashion forward and made for us petite packages arrives just in time for summer! Anthropologie is proud to announce the next collaboration for their Made in Kind initiative with WHIT, designed by New York based CFDA Incubator designer Whitney Pozgay. The WHIT for Anthropologie capsule collection showcases a colorful mix of florals and beachy prints and pays special tribute to petite women, a first for both brands. A petite woman herself, designer Whitney Pozgay understands the challenges faced by women 5’ 3” and under and is delighted to have the opportunity to help other petite women find bright, fun products that do not overwhelm their frame.
The nine-piece collection, three of which are exclusive to petites, was inspired by Pozgay’s recent trip to Tulum, Mexico. Bright colors, vivid patterns and charming embroideries reflect the beach side town’s infectious, upbeat mood while WHIT’s playful and whimsical touches gives the collection a modern twist. The combination resulted in pieces that are, according to the designer, “perfect for traveling or fun summer days.” “I’ve wanted to partner with Anthropologie for a while and was really excited we were able to make it happen and take on the petites category. Being from Arizona, I am a warm weather girl and summer was the perfect time for us to collaborate for the Made-in-Kind petite initiative. From personal experience I know what is – and mostly isn’t – out there for petites. I’m excited to give them something beautiful, bold and tailored to fit them to perfection” said Pozgay. WHIT’s collection is an important milestone in Anthropologie’s Made-in-Kind, which is dedicated to fulfilling petite women’s every want and need. Anthropologie lavishes them with a rich, layered array of apparel, while elsewhere the most they can hope for is a handful of basic pieces
This limited collection launched yesterday (!) and is priced from $148 – $258. It will be featured in the Petites Shop in Anthropologie’s Seattle location and online at www.anthropologie.com. In conjunction with the collection, Anthropologie also unveiled on its new blog, an exclusive behind the scenes video of the designer herself modeling the pieces for the lookbook photoshoot. On behalf of petite girls everywhere, I’d just have one word for Anthropologie and Whitney Pozgay: Thanks!
