Burberry-Kisses

Burberry, Google Collaboration Burberry Kisses Launches Today

In an effort to add a touch of emotion to technology, Google and Burberry have teamed up to create the Burberry Kisses Project, a website that allows users to kiss their touch screens and send their smooch to other users across the globe. Users can also opt to compose a message and choose a virtual lipstick from five Burberry Beauty shades. They can then watch as their kiss is delivered to their special recipient, using Google Earth and Street View technology. The creative team at Burberry has even developed enhanced images for the users’ viewing pleasure. Other maps on the website show which cities are getting the most virtual kisses, and where the most recent kisses have been sent.

Sarah Jessica Parker to Create a Line of Shoes, Bags, and Trench Coats

“Sex & the City’s” Sarah Jessica Parker is making another foray into fashion – this time, as a designer. The actress is partnering with Manolo Blahnik U.S. CEO George Malkemus to create a line of shoes, bags, and trench coats that will launch in Nordstrom in January. Parker attributes her fashion knowledge to being surrounded by designer clothes and accessories on the set of “Sex & the City.” For her collection, she pictured the classic metropolitan woman wearing a trench, heels, and a beautiful purse, elements of an outfit that go together easily. Apparently all those years spent running around New York City in heels rubbed off.

Macy’s Inc. Investor Meeting Update

“We will try everything,” said Terry J. Lundgren, Chairman, President and CEO of Macy’s at the Macy’s investor meeting yesterday. “We’ll try 10 things and if two work, we’ll follow through on them.” One of includes a full line store at Gurnee Mills (outlet center in Gurnee Illinois). “If this works, it will obviously open up new ideas to think about, such as expansion in those centers with smaller footprint stores,” Lundgren said. Macy’s isn’t interested in opening outlet stores because Macy’s sale prices and outlet store prices are very close.
