Summertime in Chicago brings memories of numerous festivals, days spent at the beach, and warm nights that are perfect for lounging on a patio. Unfortunately, there is more to it than that – sweating in the sweltering heat while the infamous Chicago wind blows skirts and dresses to uncomfortable heights is an annoying reality. And commuting to work five times a week only makes those problems worse.
Thankfully, designers have made it easier to function and look chic in the city this summer. Tailored shorts became a major trend this spring, and it looks like they are here to stay. They can be found in varying lengths, colors, and patterns. With a nicer look than an average pair of jean shorts, tailored shorts can be dressed up or down – for the workplace or to the beach. These ‘Dancing Leaves – Anora’ Print Shorts (above) are by Ted Baker London. They have a subtle print that has just the right amount of color to make them pretty and interesting without being over-the-top. Plus, they’re currently on sale for $87! Pair them with a blouse, blazer and heels, and you’re ready for work.
