Valentino’s Fall Campaign Goes Dutch
Dutch photograpers Inez Van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin snapped models in scenes reminiscent of the golden age of Flemish art for the Valentino fall campaign. The models included Maud Welzen, Kati Nescher, Magdalena Jasek, Irina Kravchenko, Sam Rollinson, Erika Labanauskaite, Tamara Weijenberg, Laura Kampman, Nouk Torsing, and Sasha Luss.
Co-creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli told WWD the campaign represented “the magnificence of Flemish lights and 10 different characters of contemporary feminine grace and regality.” The campaign, shot in NYC, uses classic still-life elements to accent the looks.
Gilt Launches Loyalty Program
Gilt is now the first flash-sale site to offer a customer-loyalty program. Gilt Insider Program members are rewarded for spending and interacting with the site. Points are earned for making a purchase, referring friends, or visiting a sale. They can also be traded for perks, like early access to sales, discounts, free shipping, and event invitations. As points are collected, members will qualify for status in one of the levels: select, premium, or noir. Benefits change based on the level of status and as members move up, they get wait-list priority.
Original & Mineral to Open NYC Salon
Australian company Original & Mineral will open its new salon in the Meatpacking district. Kyleigh Kuhn, Tali Lennox, Kate Foley, and DJ Albie Alexxander will all be attending tonight’s celebration for the salon.
The company is known for its ammonia-free hair products and its fans include Cameron Diaz, Miranda Kerr, and Sophie Monk. The all-new NYC Original & Mineral salon features a large table where clients can sip champagne, use their laptops, or get hand and arm massages during color treatments.
