Christopher Kane will soon have some new leadership in place. Alexandre de Brettes is taking over the role of chief executive officer of the fashion brand. Kering, the multinational company that took over Christopher Kane in January, recruited de Brettes from its own financial team. De Brettes became the deputy director of the financial communications department in 2002.
“His experience at Kering is invaluable to us, and his understanding and appreciation of our creative culture was what drew us to him. Alexandre’s appointment puts the running of our business in very good hands and gives us a strong ally in the building of our company,” said creative director Christopher Kane.
Alexandre de Brettes, the first major hire since Kering took over, will begin his first day in his new position on Sept. 1. The London-based band has more in store too. The company announced earlier this year that it plans to opening Kane’s first freestanding boutique and a second ready-to-wear range.
