Neon can be a tricky trend. As our Editor-In-Chief Lauren Dimet Waters put it in a recent post, “If you remember the neon trend of the 80′s or better still wore neon in the 80′s you are best to leave this one alone. That’s not to say you can’t rock a neon clutch or a pair of pumps.” Some of us just can’t help loving bold, bright colors. Even though sometimes this trend seems young, there are ways to incorporate it into your wardrobe in a more sophisticated way. It’s all about adding a pop of neon here and there (and, of course, not all at the same time!) to create a more subtle statement.
Chinti and Parker Contrast-Cuff Cashmere Sweater, $465 (pictured above)
There is something about mixing camel with a pop of neon at the cuff that’s both modern and super cute. It would look great paired with a white trouser or skirt.
The gold mixed with neon leather creates an elegant combination.
The sculptural design of this pump is modern and sleek.
I love the simplicity of this clutch, and the texture of the pebbled leather!
Again, the camel tones down the neon and creates a more sophisticated look.
The blues and violets are gorgeous together!
