Sephora Relaunches Beauty Insider Program
Execs at Sephora have announced the beauty retailer’s popular Beauty Insider program is getting revamped. The relaunch will offer different membership levels, and more rewards and points to members. The first premium membership level qualifies for consumers who spend at least $350 in a calendar year. Called VIB (Very Important Beauty), the program includes not only the usual samples and birthday gifts, but also first dibs on new products, seasonal VIB-only gifts, advance access to sales, and private VIB-only shopping events.
The new and highest premium membership level is available to members who spend $1,000 in a year. VIB Rouge offers all Beauty Insider benefits, all VIB benefits, free shipping on all orders, unlimited access to The Beauty Studio, and exclusive Rouge events and surprise gifts. Whew! Looks like I’ll be shopping at Sephora this weekend!
Ivanka Trump Launching Bag Line at Bloomingdale’s
Ivanka Trump is launching a handbag collection for Bloomingdale’s, fittingly called Ivanka. The line will be a chic addition to the businesswoman’s fast growing fashion empire. Trump already sells fragrance, accessories, shoes, clothing, outerwear, and is also launching sunglasses and home products in 2014. The collection will debut on August 12 exclusively at Bloomingdale’s, and will be available at other retailers in mid-September.
Jenny Packham Gets a Boost from Royalty
Jenny Packham’s website crashed from excess traffic on July 23, the same day the Duke & Duchess of Cambridge debuted their tiny prince. Seconds after it was announced that Packham designed the blue polka-dot dress that Kate Middleton wore to debut her son, the designer’s name began trending on Twitter and traffic to her website increased. The dress was made specifically for Middleton, so sadly it is not for sale.
