With Fashion Week already around the corner, we were thrilled to be on the super exclusive list for the Ford Artists Suite at the posh Drum Bar at the Rafaello Hotel. What does fashion week have to do with being primped and pampered by some of the best stylists in the biz? It’s a rare chance for us to actually have a one on one chat with the artists to try (probably in vain) to recreate the hottest looks of the season in time for the shows!

First up were manis but the Ford Artist manicurists. To say we were in good hands would be an understatement; all Ford Artists, like Ford Models, go through a rigorous process to be accepted under the reputable agency. Once in, they’re booked for gig ranging from magazine photo shoots to personal weddings. Each artist and stylist has a staggeringly impressive portfolio of whatever their forte is, and my manicurist, Ashley, even had her own wheel of nail art that she had carefully created.

I chose a fresh robin’s egg blue paired with a greige lavender, both from RGB Cosmetics. Ashley carefully painted little lavender  triangles onto my pale blue nails, much to my delight. After I looked over to see Carol getting the VIP treatment by having little chain link decals applied to her neutral-colored nails by artist Andrea Fulerton. We were both thrilled at our nail art creations!

Afterwards, we each received a makeup application from the nearby makeup artists. My artist, Heather Schnell, was cute as a button in ringlet curls, cat eye glasses, and an adorable black and white tiered skirt. She suggested we try Temptu’s airbrushing technique to give my skin some contouring, but not before she gave me a wickedly fierce dark blue smokey eye, to match my newly blue-ified nails. All around us women were trying out bold eyes or bright lips, each loving what their artists came up with!

As for me, I loved the angelic blue of my nails paired with the slightly villainous look of my indigo eyeliner and just had to snap a shot of them together in fear I would never get to see this combo again! Thanks again to Ford Artists for treating us to a special evening of primping and pampering! Visit Ford Artists for more information and profiles of current artists.
