H&M (FINALLY!) Launches E-Commerce in U.S.

H&M, which has been in the U.S. for 13 years, has announced its long awaited e-commerce launch today. The retailer unveiled the launch on Twitter and Facebook, which includes an online store, a mobile app, and a home catalogue distribution. The online store will include apparel and accessories for women, men and children. Special offers and promotions are available on the site as well. The brand will now reportedly reach 300 million people in the U.S! Mark your calendars- online shoppers can get their fast-fashion fix on August 22, where they will get first dibs on the Paris Show collection before it is available in stores on September 5.

Verdict Reached in Rihanna vs. Topshop

The singer has won a court case against Topshop for selling a t-shirt with her face on it. The offending shirt was sold at Topshop last year and had an image of Rihanna from her “We Found Love” music video. The U.K. judge did not assess damages, and reportedly Rihanna is asking for around $22,954 at current exchange. In the U.K., the law states that anyone who legally purchases an image of a celebrity can use it. However, here in the U.S., the celebrity needs to be paid royalties on sales. Rihanna is currently collaborating with River Island, one of Topshop’s British competitors, on a collection for spring.

Paco Rabanne Names Julien Dossena as Creative Director

Paco Rabanne has tapped French designer Julien Dossena as their new woman’s wear creative director. Dossena will also oversee accessories and will present his first collection for the house during Paris Fashion Week on September 26. Dossena, who was previously a senior designer at Balenciaga, is the third designer in three years to take the reigns at Paco Rabanne. He is taking over for Indian designer Manish Arora. “I’m delighted to be joining this house, which boasts a unique heritage. I have always been fascinated by the forward-thinking attitude and innovative approach distinct to Paco Rabanne. It’s now a great honor to be appointed its creative director.” Dossena said in a statement.
