Carolyn Murphy Poses for Blackglama
Blackglama’s latest advertising campaign features model Carolyn Murphy posing in a series of surreal winter settings. Murphy joins the ranks of Helen Hayes, Ethel Merman, Sophia Loren, Diana Ross, Audrey Hepburn, Elizabeth Taylor and Liza Minnelli, who have all posed for Blackglama campaigns. Shying away from celebrities and entertainers, the brand wanted to use a model to compliment their luxurious pieces. At its inception over 40 years ago, Blackglama was one of the only brands to shoot campaigns with celebrities.
Oscar de la Renta and John Galliano Contemplate Future
Oscar de la Renta won’t give up on John Galliano. Sources confirm the scandal-ridden designer is in negotiations with de la Renta about a permanent position at his fashion house. In January, de la Renta made a controversial decision to name Galliano as a “designer in residence” for three weeks in his NYC studio. It’s been almost two-and-a-half years since Galliano was fired from Christian Dior.
It seems as if de la Renta truly wants to give Galliano a second chance, saying, “We all loved having John here in the studio and would like to find a way of having him here more often.” Oscar de la Renta Inc. CEO Alex Bolen added, “As we have said before, we are deeply impressed with John’s talent and would love to find a way to work with him in the future.”
