Ruthie Davis and John Bartlett Do Footwear Collaboration
Men’s designer John Bartlett and footwear designer Ruthie Davis co-branded a range of “cruelty-free” shoes made from sustainable and vegan materials that bear Bartlett’s signature “Tiny Tim” print. The print is a colorful motif of the designer’s beloved three-legged pit bull who died in 2010. The lineup includes three styles: a woman’s high-heeled pump, a unisex high-top sneaker with spikes and a unisex running shoe. The shoes will retail for $398 to $698 and will be available in late January at ruthiedavis.com and johnbartlettny.com, as well as select specialty retailers. Ten percent of sales will go to Bartlett’s Tiny Tim Rescue Fund, which provides resources to organizations that help treat and find homes for shelter animals.
Helena Christensen Designs For Kipling
Helena Christensen co-designed a capsule collection of handbags for the Kipling and will also be featured in the global fall campaign, to break in Europe later this month, called Kipling with Helena Christensen. Christensen was very involved in the bag designs, from attending the initial inspiration meetings to co-designing the silhouettes, hardware and trims. The collection of weekend bags, shoulder bags and pouches is slightly more upscale than the brand’s classic collection and features a more sophisticated color palette. Comprised of lightweight leather instead of the signature nylon material — as well as a metal monkey, not a furry one — the bags range from $109 to $269, a higher price point for the brand. The collection will launch in September at Kipling stores worldwide, kipling.com and select Macy’s stores.

Hollister and Keds Join Forces
Thursday, a new line that matches the iconic Keds Champion sneaker with patterns from the California lifestyle brand will retail at Hollisterco.com. “With the Hollister collaboration, our classic Champion sneaker gets a major shot of California style,” Keds President Rick Blackshaw said in a release.
Since flip-flops are currently the only footwear sold in Hollister, this partnership with Keds is a great opportunity for the brand. Abercrombie & Fitch, Hollister’s parent company, said in a statement. The shoes will be sold exclusively on the Hollister website.
