The episode begins with Tim Gunn waking everyone up in a referee outfit and blowing a whistle! The designers meet at an obstacle course wearing athletic gear and are broken into five teams of two. They participate in the three legged race, the tire run, the wheelbarrow race and the flag grab.
The team who wins gets to choose their fabric first and gets an extra hour of work time. This week’s challenge? You probably already guessed it: creating athletic performance wear that is fashionable. The winning look will be sold as part of Heidi’s collection at New Balance stores and online!
Dom and Justin win the athletic races and Helen has immunity for this challenge but this is the last time immunity will be given to a designer this season.
Back in the workroom, Helen and Ken Laurence get in a huge shouting match. Luckily they work it out, but everyone is still stressed. Karen gets a bad critique and has to start over.
Past judge Michael Kors (we love him) joins Nina, Heidi, and Zac on the judges panel this week!
The winning look will be between Helen and Kate, and after much debate Helen is declared the winner! Let’s see if she can continue her winning streak next week.
Karen and Ken land in the bottom and unfortunately, Karen is out.
