The Project Runway designers have the morning off and go to a southern style brunch, yum! Although they don’t get to relax for too long. Tim Gunn arrives and tells them about this week’s challenge.
Looks must be created for the modern, southern woman. They can create either a day look or an evening look and have one day to work. The winning look will be produced and sold at Belk and at belk.com! Many of the designers struggled with this challenge, because they’re not familiar with the south. They definitely had a disconnect with the target customer.
The guest judges are Stacy Kiebler and John Tomas, Executive VP of Belk. Stacy is the host of the new Lifetime show, Supermarket Superstars. (and George Clooney’s ex!)
Braden is announced the winner early on! His look is the only one that really wowed the judges.
For the first time in Project Runway history, Ken, Jeremy, and Dom, who are in the bottom, get to go back to the workroom for an hour to tweak their looks. They are even allowed to take a helper with them. Back on the runway, the judges are a lot happier with the three updated looks. Dom’s look ended up looking so fabulous; she is now also the winner of this challenge! Her look will be sold at Belk along with Braden’s dress. Jeremy and Ken are at the bottom, and sadly Jeremy is sent packing.
