Net A Porter App

Net-a-porter Launches App

Net-a-porter has developed a new mobile app to create a social network of users. Fans of the luxury e-tailer can share their favorite products and pieces. Called The Netbook, is based off the idea of keeping a fashion diary. Currently, access to the app is by invitation only, however it will be available to fashionistas everywhere very soon. The Netbook will be available at the iTunes App Store and currently works on iPhones and iPads. The app will be available on other mobile devices in the future. Net-a-porter’s editors, buyers, and public relations teams will be using the app during London, Milan, and Paris Fashion Weeks.

The Netbook is image-based and shoppable. After building a profile, users will be able to “admire” their friends, search for thousands of items on Net-a-porter, and build a “Love List” that other users can “admire” by tapping an image. There will also be a feed of products trending worldwide. Stella McCartney has sponsored the app and is already a huge fan!

Longchamp Opens London Flagship

Longchamp has opened a flagship store in London. Located on Regent Street, the space is larger and grander than the two other stores in London. The beloved French leather goods brand’s new flagship will sell shoes, women’s ready-to-wear, and menswear, in addition to their iconic bags. Longchamp’s first in-store made-to-measure service is also available. Customers will even be able to build their own Le Pliage bag, a service that was previously only available online.

Roberto Cavalli Publishes Autobiography

Today Roberto Cavalli will (finally!) unveil his autobiography, called “Just Me!” After working on it for four years, the book is bound to be full of classic Cavalli quotes. When talking about his autobiography, Cavalli said, “With this book, people will discover a Roberto Cavalli that you don’t expect, because the recital is over, so I take the stage and introduce the real me. This is not a book about fashion; it is about a boy from a modest family who achieved success thanks to his strong willpower. I wrote this book very slowly. I wrote it for me and also to leave something to my children, to inspire them.” When asked about retirement, Cavalli answered in a statement, “How could I stop? Indeed, I could not stay away from the catwalk. When I go out, it’s such an emotion…and I look you all in the eyes.” This book is a must-read for any fan of the flamboyant designer!
