I have been searching and searching for a primer with adequate SPF protection to love. I have tried several in recent months and have not found any worth sharing until now. Just last month Laura Mercier launched their new Foundation Primer – Protect Broad Spectrum SPF 30 and it is like none other I have eve tried. This oil-free formula primes the skin for makeup application by creating a smooth surface between skincare and makeup so the skin is smooth and makeup lasts. With added UVB/UVA it creates the perfect canvas.
You can apply Laura Mercier Foundation Primer Protect Broad Spectrum SPF 30 over your moisturizer or clean skin prior to applying either tinted moisturizer, foundation or concealer. I tried it both ways and since my face in the summer can get a (ahem) dewy – after testing it both ways I prefer applying it to a clean face. It applies a little creamy, but not too thick and is not greasy nor does it leave a shine. The best part is that I use less foundation and what I do use looks almost airbrushed. It is without a doubt the best primer I have used in a long time. The fact that it has SPF is just the icing on the cake.
